This summer we spotted a wonderful bird....a leucistic California Towhee!  It has been
living on the property for the past f
ew months, giving us a great look at a rare bird!
Our much-anticipated trip to Niger to accompany the Sahara Conservation Fund
was postponed...unfortunate but understandable given the increased unrest in
the area.  We are looking forward to another opportunity in the hopefully near
future to get a first-hand look and better understanding of the many species
living in the Sahara Desert, and will continue to contribute to the further research
and conservation efforts by the Sahara Conservation Fund.  To learn more about
the SCF and how you can help, please go to :

In the meantime, we've found a wonderful opportunity to travel to Belize for a
week of birding in January 2010 with Lee Jones, author of "The Birds of Belize".
